Document Details : Title: Ein neuer Vorschlag zur Wolke aus Licht in der sahidischen Eudoxia-Erzählung Author(s): BOJOWALD, Stefan Journal: Le Muséon Volume: 137 Issue: 1-2 Date: 2024 Pages: 47-52 DOI: 10.2143/MUS.137.1.3293313 Abstract : This article asks about the meaning of the cloud of light in the Sahidic Eudoxia story. The heavenly phenomenon occurs in a battle report, where it descends from above on the Emperor Constantine and carries him away to Constantinople. The previous explanation as a reminiscence of Elijah’s ascension or Yahwe’s cloud pillar when the Children of Israel left Egypt is rejected. The answer is instead seen in an allusion to the transfiguration of Christ on Mount Tabor. |
