Comme tel, il mettrait en avant la figure du prophète Isaïe qui a révélé l’engagement définitif de Dieu envers la ville de Jérusalem. Et Ben Sira, successeur d’Hénoch, s’appuierait sur cette révélation scripturaire pour ridiculiser les Tobiades, héritiers de Joseph, à qui il se serait opposé pendant le siège de Jérusalem par les troupes d’Antiochos III le Grand. Cette conjecture permet de rendre compte de la mention conjointe des deux patriarches de la Genèse aux vv. 49,14-16. The Hebrew text of the Praise of the Fathers is probably a grammar written to introduce to the linguistic difficulties of the text of the Sacred Scriptures of the Jews. As such, it would highlight the figure of the prophet Isaiah who revealed God’s definitive commitment to the city of Jerusalem. And Ben Sira, successor to Enoch, would use this scriptural revelation to ridicule the Tobiads, heirs of Joseph, whom he would have opposed during the siege of Jerusalem by the troops of Antiochus III the Great. This conjecture makes it possible to account for the joint mention of the two patriarchs of Genesis in vv. 49:14-16. |
