Journal: Studia Canonica Volume: 57 Issue: 2 Date: 2023 Pages: 413-445 DOI: 10.2143/STC.57.2.3292789 Abstract : Certain juridical texts issued in the pontificate of Francis raise questions regarding the place of the Holy Mass celebrated according to the 1962 Missale Romanum, the competence of the diocesan bishop in liturgical matters, and other subjects surrounding what Benedict XVI called the 'Extraordinary Form' of the Roman Rite, or the usus antiquior. The A. examines these documents with a particular focus on determining what of Benedict’s legislation has been revoked by Francis and what remains unaffected. Certains textes juridiques publiés sous le pontificat de François soulèvent des questions concernant la place de la Sainte Messe célébrée selon le Missale Romanum de 1962, la compétence de l’évêque diocésain dans les questions liturgiques et d’autres sujets entourant ce que Benoît XVI a appelé la «forme extraordinaire» du Rite romain, ou l’usus antiquior. L’A. examine ces documents en s’attachant tout particulièrement à déterminer ce qui, dans la législation de Benoît, a été révoqué par François et ce qui n’a pas été affecté. |
