Document Details : Title: Fremdheit im ersten Petrusbrief und bei Dion Chrysostomos Subtitle: Gedanken eines Kynikers als Lektürehilfe für die Theologie von 1 Petrus? Author(s): SOMMER, Michael Journal: Biblica Volume: 104 Issue: 3 Date: 2023 Pages: 426-448 DOI: 10.2143/BIB.104.3.3292421 Abstract : This article shows that the First Epistle of Peter not only receives Jewish traditions but also shows parallels to (popular) philosophical discourses. A parallel reading of Dion Chrysotom’s speeches and the First Letter of Peter reveals intellectual similarities and common patterns of argumentation. Both authors use the category of foreignness in a comparable way. Of course, the article does not intend to prove literary dependencies. This comparison illustrates the complexity of the theological argumentation structure of the First Letter of Peter. |
