Il s’agit de Dèmètrios Gémistos, connu surtout par son traité de réforme liturgique du patriarcat (Diataxis), daté de la fin des années 1380, et par sa participation à la vie de cette institution dans le dernier quart du 14e siècle. Cette enquête conduit aussi à reconnaître son écriture dans plusieurs manuscrits, ce qui témoigne de la diversité de ses compétences. Recent new identifications of the handwriting of the patriarchal secretary Ioannes Chrysokephalos Holobolos allow us to return to the difficulties and criteria for identifying the handwriting of those working in the chancery, and to propose the identification of a new secretary whose career runs parallel to that of Holobolos, Demetrios Gemistos, who is best known for his Diataxis on the liturgical reform of the Patriarchate, dating from the late 1380s, and for his involvement in the life of this institution in the last quarter of the fourteenth century. This investigation also leads to the recognition of his handwriting in a number of manuscripts, which bears witness to the diversity of his skills. |
