This is due not only to the seeming ubiquity of the internet and social media, but also to the intentional and profound change in the way church leaders have employed mass media in the face of accusations against clerics. A proper understanding of the juridical goods at stake depends in part on seeing the important role bona fama has played in a wide variety of times, places, cultures, and juridical frameworks. Le droit à la réputation, qui bénéficie d’une protection explicite en vertu du canon 220 du Code de 1983, a beaucoup souffert ces dernières années dans les milieux ecclésiaux. Cela est dû non seulement à l’omniprésence apparente de l’internet et des médias sociaux, mais aussi au changement intentionnel et profond dans la manière dont les dirigeants de l’Église ont utilisé les médias de masse face aux accusations portées contre des clercs. Une bonne compréhension des biens juridiques en jeu dépend en partie de la perception du rôle important que la bona fama a joué dans une grande variété d’époques, de lieux, de cultures et de cadres juridiques. |
