Document Details : Title: An Overview of Armenian-Italian Stage Contacts Author(s): BAKHCHINYAN, Artsvi Journal: Revue des Études Arméniennes Volume: 41 Date: 2022 Pages: 591-599 DOI: 10.2143/REA.41.0.3291905 Abstract : (article written in Armenian) The Armenian-Italian cultural relations are multifaceted and relatively well-studied. Yet, the relations in the field of dramatic and musical theater have escaped scholarly attention. These contacts are in turn diverse and can be divided into different branches: a. The influence of Italian drama and music theater on the Armenian one, b. Armenian heroes in Italian plays, c. Italian theater on the Armenian stage, d. Armenian playwrights staged in Italian, e. Figures of Italian origin in the Armenian theater, f. Italian actors in the Armenian environment and their opinions about Armenian actors. In this paper, the author combined the information related mainly to the last three points. In the nineteenth century both in Eastern and Western Armenian theaters there were direct Italian influences and close cooperation with Italian stage figures. |
