Document Details : Title: La morale familiale comme pratique pédagogique au sein du peuple de Dieu Author(s): BORDEYNE, Philippe Journal: Marriage, Families & Spirituality Volume: 29 Issue: 1 Date: 2023 Pages: 26-40 DOI: 10.2143/INT.29.1.3291813 Abstract : Chapter seven of Amoris latitia on education is the key to understanding the pedagogy inaugurated by the entirety of the text, beginning with a christological and pneumatological approach to the kerygma. This corresponds to Pope Francis’s dynamic conception of family ethics and fundamental moral theology based on a reciprocity in the practice of the virtues, the progressive maturing of freedom, and ongoing learning. The document reformulates the law of graduality as the prudential following of the law within human limits. This has ecclesiological consequences for sexual ethics, in the sense of a greater attention to life trajectories shaped by grace, of a greater interdisciplinary deciphering of the enigma of sexuality, and of a more active participation by the people of God in elaborating a sexual ethics that reflects the moral and spiritual work of concrete persons in their social and cultural context. |
