Document Details : Title: Su Anth. Lat. 912 Riese2, un epigramma mediolatino e un carme di Niccolò Perotti Author(s): DE GIANNI, Donato Journal: Latomus Volume: 81 Issue: 4 Date: 2022 Pages: 769-787 DOI: 10.2143/LAT.81.4.3291515 Abstract : This article shows the similarities in form and content between Anth. Lat. 912 Riese2, a medieval Latin epigram found in MS København, Det Kongelige Bibliotek, Fabricius 81 8° (late 12th century), fol. 93r, and an epigram of the Italian humanist Niccolò Perotti. The text of the Anthologia, on which specific studies are lacking until now, was published for the first time by Pierre Pithou (Paris 1590) on the basis of a vetus codex today unidentified and belonged to François Juret (1553-1626). But actually, the poem is transmitted in MS Oxford, Bodleian Library, Rawlinson G. 109 (late 12th or early 13th century), unknown to both Pithou and Riese. Through a comparative analysis of the three poems it is possible to advance some hypothesis on the chronology of the Anthologia’s epigram and to hypothesize that it was Perotti’s direct model. |
