Document Details : Title: Vroege receptiesporen van Van den vos Reynaerde en Spiegel historiael op een onbekend fragment in de Abdij van Park (Heverlee, Archief Abdij van Park, VIIIB20/120) Author(s): BREEUS-LOOS, Laurent , VAN ELDERE, Irene Journal: Spiegel der Letteren Volume: 64 Issue: 3 Date: 2022 Pages: 257-270 DOI: 10.2143/SDL.64.3.3291496 Abstract : In this contribution, the fragment Heverlee, Archives of Park Abbey, VIIIB20/120 is discussed for the first time. The fragment contains mainly Latin and Middle Dutch probationes pennae, five of which were copied by the same scribe. Paleographic analysis suggests that this scribe was active as a Premonstratensian canon at the Park Abbey around the late 13th and/or early 14th century. Remarkably, two Middle Dutch probationes pennae written by this scribe can also be found in two canonical texts: Van den vos Reynaerde (ca. 1260) and Spiegel historiael (ca. 1283-1288). Our comparative analysis provides strong arguments to presume that these probationes pennae can be considered early reception traces of these works, but whether the scribe derived them directly from the texts remains uncertain. |
