It puts a Christian text, the Second Admonition of St. Francis of Assisi, in dialogue with some fundamental Buddhist teachings, including the Four Noble Truths and nonself. It explores theological and philosophical points that resonate both in Francis’s spiritual reflections and in general Buddhist teachings and discusses some distinctive points that distinguish one from the other, such as delusion, craving, and God. It also reinterprets the Second Admonition in light of the Buddhist teachings. |
