Surface findings indicated different cultural periods, with ambiguities related to cultural sequences and levels. The authors therefore began an excavation project to better define the area. Stratigraphically, Baba Kamal revealed eight cultural periods: Middle and Late Chalcolithic, Early, Middle and Late Bronze Age, Iron III and Median, Parthian and Islamic. |
