Brady had argued for the existence of two versions of the text, both attributable to Lombard himself. By turning to unstudied manuscripts from English libraries, this article reevaluates Brady’s assessment, arguing that he was premature in his conclusions, and calling for a new beginning in the study of Lombard’s biblical oeuvre, based on a more meticulous collation and study of manuscripts outside of Paris. |
