Document Details : Title: Three Grammatical Issues in Biblical Aramaic Author(s): MURAOKA, Takamitsu Journal: Ancient Near Eastern Studies Volume: 57 Date: 2020 Pages: 53-58 DOI: 10.2143/ANES.57.0.3288611 Abstract : In spite of scanty evidence, it appears that the stress in Biblical Aramaic is phonemic. The second מַלְכָּא in Dan 6:8 could be the subject of the preceding infinitive, לְקַיָּמָה, though it does not have to be. The reduplicated plural, רַבְרְבִין and רַבְרְבָן, possibly indicate not only plurality, but also intensity. |
