Document Details : Title: Die Ökumenische Bewegung aus der Sicht katholischer Theologen der ersten Hälfte des 20. Jahrhunderts Author(s): HELL, Leonhard Journal: Ephemerides Theologicae Lovanienses Volume: 96 Issue: 1 Date: 2020 Pages: 41-76 DOI: 10.2143/ETL.96.1.3287375 Abstract : It is usually maintained that the Roman Catholic Church only entered the ecumenical movement with and after the Second Vatican Council. If this is true, it does not mean, however, that already in the decades before the Council numerous theological voices and initiatives did not prepare the turning point formally achieved with this Council. This article tries to offer an overview of such contributions from various linguistic areas by classifying them historically and by examining their contents with regard to essential questions of ecumenical dialogue, in particular with reference to the concept of the church and its unity. |
