Document Details : Title: Vestigium typologiae Subtitle: Sull'antifona 'Marmin tērunakan' della liturgia eucaristica armena Author(s): PANE, Riccardo Journal: Le Muséon Volume: 130 Issue: 3-4 Date: 2017 Pages: 327-341 DOI: 10.2143/MUS.130.3.3259744 Abstract : The article examines the ancient Armenian antiphon, of Syrian origin, Marmin tērunakan which states the presence of the Body and Blood of the Lord at the time of the Great Entrance, that is to say long before the Anaphora. This peculiarity is read in the light of a more ancient liturgical theology, based on typology and well attested in the catechesis of Theodore of Mopsuestia, but later substituted by a more common theology based on the epiclesis and consecration. The author conjectures that the Armenian antiphon may be a trace of the typological perspective, surviving inside a liturgical framework that is altered now. |
