Document Details : Title: Een samenvatting van de clausuurpassage in Ruusbroecs Vanden seven sloten in Latijnse vertaling en haar verwantschap met Geert Grotes Ruusbroecvertalingen Author(s): DE BAERE, Guido Journal: Ons Geestelijk Erf Volume: 88 Issue: 2-4 Date: 2017 Pages: 150-177 DOI: 10.2143/OGE.88.2.3256929 Abstract : In the manuscript Brussels, Koninklijke Bibliotheek, 9320-24, Geert Grote’s complete Latin translation of Ruusbroec’s Een spieghel der eeuwigher salicheit is followed by a short text in Latin. It appears to be the translation of a summary of the seven enclosures that Ruusbroec describes as part of his treatise Vanden seven sloten. The treatise as a whole deals with the order of the day in a contemplative monastery. The style and the terminology of the translation draws it strikingly near to Grote’s translation of Die geestelike brulocht, whereas a conspicuous syntactic feature is also to be found in his translation of Vanden XII dogheden. Therefore, it is very probable that the translation of the enclosures is made by Geert Grote. |
