Document Details : Title: De la bénédiction du roi à la bénédiction de Dieu (Ps 72) Author(s): RENAUD, B. Journal: Biblica Volume: 70 Issue: 3 Date: 1989 Pages: 305-326 DOI: 10.2143/BIB.70.3.3217802 Abstract : The theological category of benediction, which occurs repeatedly at the end of the poem, provides an important key to the interpretation of the whole of Ps 72. First of all, it serves as a reference axis to the vocabulary and to the symbolism of the psalm, and it allows the recognition of the literary form, which fluctuates between prayer and oracle. It also serves as a medium of Israelite theology in order to integrate into its vision of faith the overall representation of the order of the world and of the place which the institution of the royalty holds in it, while purifying them of any polytheistic or idolatrous taint. Finally, a genetic analysis of the piece shows that the successive rereadings of the original kernel developed within the framework of benediction. |
