Around 1900 Jacob Muller published a number of reviews and articles in which he gave an overview of the methodological discussions in Dutch studies. Unlike many of his colleagues, Muller also argued that Dutch studies should remain open to impulses from abroad and he focused in particular on the contributions of Johannes Franck, the first professor of Dutch studies in Germany. |
