This article identifies and classifies the biblical dance scenes in order to reveal from a theological perspective why human beings dance. The article defends the following hypothesis: in the biblical context, dancing represents an act of language that creates the bonds of the Covenant. Through various human experiences, the dance binds people to God and individuals to one another. This paper represents an exploratory research of the complex and multifaceted reality of dance from a theological perspective within a particular context in which it reveals itself: the biblical world. |
