The folio currently resides in the Österreichische Nationalbibliothek in Vienna. It comes from the very first known letter written by Shenoute. Therefore, it is one of our earliest monastic rule fragments. The article publishes the rules and examines their parallels in the Pachomian rules as well as their importance for understanding the early history of Shenoute and his monastery. |
