Document Details : Title: Naming God in God and the Between Author(s): O'REGAN, Cyril Journal: Louvain Studies Volume: 36 Issue: 2-3 Date: 2012 Pages: 282-301 DOI: 10.2143/LS.36.2.2979762 Abstract : This essay explores William Desmond’s ways of naming God or thinking of the divine attributes in God and the Between. Specific focus is placed on the relation between Desmond’s approach and the classical/Neoplatonic Christian tradition, particularly Pseudo-Dionysius and St. Augustine. The author then compares and contrasts Desmond’s ways of naming God in relation to two other contemporary positions developed by Jean-Luc Marion and by Denys Turner. |
