This paper studies the influence of Martí’s apologetics on three major Catalan theologians. Starting with his contemporary, Ramon Llull (1232-1316), who was critical of Martí’s intellectual project, the paper proceeds by focusing on the affirmative reception of Martí’s ideas in Arnau de Vilanova’s (c. 1240-1311) Allocutio super significatione nominis tetragrammaton and, particularly, in Francesc Eiximenis’s (c. 1327-1409) Lo Crestià, which draws heavily on Martí’s explanation of the Tetragrammaton. |
