Document Details : Title: La chronologie des œuvres de Guillaume de Saint-Thierry Author(s): VERDEYEN, Paul Journal: Ons Geestelijk Erf Volume: 82 Issue: 3 Date: September 2011 Pages: 193-203 DOI: 10.2143/OGE.82.3.2131174 Abstract : All the works of William of Saint-Thierry have recently been published anew in critical editions in the series Corpus christinanorum - Continuatio mediaeualis. Many new data make it possible to determine a new chronological order. William enjoyed his most productive periode as a cistercian at Signy (1135-48). He wrote his first works when he was abbot in Saint-Thierry (1121-1135), though some of those works were published only later. This article also presents two seventeenth-century scholars who demonstrated great interest in William’s writings: Jacques Sirmond (1559-1651) and Bertrand Tissier (1600-1670). |
