Document Details : Title: Das Beispiel bei Husserl Author(s): FERENCZ-FLATZ, Christian Journal: Tijdschrift voor Filosofie Volume: 73 Issue: 2 Date: 2011 Pages: 261-286 DOI: 10.2143/TVF.73.2.2118206 Abstract : The use of examples was always considered to be an essential characteristic of phenomenology’s descriptive approach to philosophy. More than being just a helpful theoretical instrument, examples offer the main intuitive basis for both description and ideation. Thus, they have a precise methodical function and require a very particular structuring that Husserl often discusses in his texts. The article intends to rigorously outline the place of examples in Husserl’s methodical conception, also pointing out some of their more problematic aspects, such as the analogy with the geometrical use of illustrations or the technique of eidetic variation. |
