Its aim is to illustrate some of the reasons why it is singularly appropriate to include the study of the Etruscans and their civilisation in university-level teaching and research in Classical and European Archaeology. In particular, certain aspects of the relationship between the Etruscan civilisation and its Greek and Roman counterparts are reviewed; so too are modern attitudes to the Etruscans, some of which (especially in Britain) are giving cause for concern. |
