Document Details : Title: Tübingen als poëticaal strijdperk Subtitle: Een dubbele lectuur van het Tübingen-gedicht van Jan Lauwereyns Author(s): DE STRYCKER, Carl Journal: Spiegel der Letteren Volume: 52 Issue: 2 Date: 2010 Pages: 185-202 DOI: 10.2143/SDL.52.2.2049206 Abstract : This article offers an analysis of the poem ‘Tübingen, juli’ from the volume Buigzaamheden by Jan Lauwereyns. Starting from a reflection on the reading process and the distinction between two types of meaning made by Derrida en Riffaterre, two ways of attributing meaning are being investigated. This results in two divergent readings of the poem, which both have a poetical counterpart: one reading is referential and is based on a poetics of mimesis, the other is intertextual and concerns a poetics that considers the poem to be a producer of significance. The text referred to in Lauwereyns’s verse, namely Paul Celan’s ‘Tübingen, Jänner’, turns out to be a key text in Lauwereyns’s poetics. This article explores firstly how Lauwereyns formulated his poetics in relation to Celan’s poem, and secondly how his work relates to the two poetical tendencies described above. |
