Document Details : Title: A New Marriage Rite for the Italian Church Subtitle: A Presentation of the Second Typical Edition Author(s): TRAPANI, Valeria Journal: Marriage, Families & Spirituality Volume: 11 Issue: 2 Date: Autumn 2005 Pages: 313-315 DOI: 10.2143/INT.11.2.2014384 Abstract : The Italian translation of the new rite of marriage was recently approved for use in Italy and became mandatory on the First Sunday of Advent, 2004. Valeria Trapani, a liturgical scholar of the Pontifical Theological Faculty of St. John the Evangelist in Palermo, Sicily, where she has taught since 2000, evaluates the translation and argues that it represents a significant step forward in the reform of the rites of the Church called for at the Second Vatican Council. |
