Document Details : Title: Galabovo Pottery and a New Synchronisation for the Bronze Age in Upper Thrace with Anatolia Author(s): LESHTAKOV, K. Journal: Anatolica Volume: 28 Date: 2002 Pages: 171-211 DOI: 10.2143/ANA.28.0.2011766 Abstract : The rescue excavations of the Galabovo Tell ('Assara') near the village of Rozov Kladenets brought to light a number of new problems concerning different aspects of the prehistoric cultures in Southeast Europe. Although the investigations are incomplete and only a quarter of the settled area has been excavated of a depth of c. 1m, the finds from levels 4-1a have provoked considerable interest. In this study I would like to summarise the information on the pottery from Galabovo 4-1a levels and to discuss the possibility of working out a new stage of synchronisation of the cultures in Upper Thrace with those in Anatolia and the Aegean. |
