At the head of the army stands now the mr mš' wr, 'generalissimo'. The number of mr i'3w, overseer of the Nubian auxiliary troops', is lowering. Some new titles, typical of this period, take a prominent place in the document: 3tw '3 n niwt, 'chief of the urban regiment'; ḫrp skw, 'commanding officer of the troops'; sḥd šmsw, 'lieutenant of the guard'. |
