Document Details : Title: Quelques idées sur l'arbre à cheveux ḫt n šn Author(s): BAUM, Nathalie Journal: Revue d'Égyptologie Volume: 42 Date: 1991 Pages: 11-24 DOI: 10.2143/RE.42.0.2011287 Abstract : Study of hairy and hairy-like trees, shrubs or shrublets which may be related to Ineni's ḫt n n (TT 81) and suggestions about possible variations of the meaning of n, 'hairs of a plant'. Special features of inflorescences, flowers and fruits in a number of Egyptian species are considered: not only woolly-fleecy spikes, plumose awns, bearded corolla-lobes, fruits hairy, fringed or covered with bristles or soft spines, tapering to a long beak which can be plumose, seeds tufted with silky hairs, but also stamens with long filaments and linear petals. |
