Document Details : Title: Van polderland tot poldervolk Subtitle: Aspecten van de streekliteratuur in Vlaanderen Author(s): DE GEEST, Dirk , VANFRAUSSEN, Eveline Journal: Spiegel der Letteren Volume: 47 Issue: 2 Date: 2005 Pages: 147-203 DOI: 10.2143/SDL.47.2.2004949 Abstract : The present article investigates the phenomenon of so-called regional literature in Flanders during the interwar period, by taking as a case three novels which are situated in roughly the same geographical area, namely the polder-landscape. A meticulous textual analysis demonstrates how this space, and consequently the close relation between the characters and their environment which is considered constitutive for the genre, is narrativized in various ways, in keeping with the poetic conception of literature and the function associated with a particular text type. |
