Document Details : Title: Ancient Persia and the Caucasus Author(s): KNAUSS, F. Journal: Iranica Antiqua Volume: 41 Date: 2006 Pages: 79-118 DOI: 10.2143/IA.41.0.2004762 Abstract : In the middle of the 6th century BC Cyrus the Great founded an empire which dominated the Near and Middle East for more than two centuries. In the recent past this situation has begun to change. In the following I am going to present an area on the north-western periphery of the vast empire: the Caucasus. |
