Journal: Le Muséon Volume: 118 Issue: 3-4 Date: 2005 Pages: 299-313 DOI: 10.2143/MUS.118.3.2004464 Abstract : The Library of Congress in Washington, DC owns a manuscript of the Adamgirk' of Aṙak'el Siwne'i's. The manuscript was copied in Aleppo in the year 1653. This manuscript was not used in the most recent critical edition of the book by A. Madoyan (1989). The manuscript was examined for its textual value. Three samples were collated and then, the overall contents of Madoyan's edition and of the LC manuscript were compared. We elected to undertake this second procedure because one of the most characteristic variations encountered in Madoyan's apparatus is the omission or addition of whole stanzas. The text of additions is given and translated. |
