Document Details : Title: Motives in Motion Author(s): MERTENS, Frits Journal: Studies in Spirituality Volume: 15 Date: 2005 Pages: 185-200 DOI: 10.2143/SIS.15.0.2003475 Abstract : Nine interviews with brothers FIC were analysed to create a picture of their actual lives. The theme of analysis was brotherhood in the psychosocial and spiritual sense. For each different focus points are given. Results appeared to be adequately reportable around two crucial turning points for each interviewee: entering the order and retiring. The analysis revealed that there are three groups, each comprising three people, with a distinctive experience of a more or less comparable life. Each group displays a distinctive profile. Our analysis shows that a multiplicity of factors co-determine the real-life cycle and experience of individual lives: age, personal motives and meanings, Zeitgeist, personal expectations and those of other people. |
