Document Details : Title: Rituals' Narrative Logics Author(s): LOMBAERTS, Herman Journal: Questions Liturgiques/Studies in Liturgy Volume: 86 Issue: 2-3 Date: 2005 Pages: 203-215 DOI: 10.2143/QL.86.2.2003212 Abstract : In this contribution the concept of anamnesis, understood as 'recollection' or 'the process of remembering,' occupies a central place. I certainly have not forgotten that anamnesis also refers to the prayer after the consecration in which one is reminded of the suffering, ressurection, and ascension of Christ. The author, however, pays particular attention to the rites which put the activity of 'remembering' at the foreground as a far-reaching and change-provoking event. Morover, 'to remember' is deeply conencted with stories. It is a rite to recall, together with other people, reminiscences, and the stories that are connected with them. Rites and stories are intertwined. |
