Nowaday it is Atbashi raiion of Naryn oblast’ in the Kirghiz Republic. The relatively cool climate was not much favourable for husbandry but the whole valley was an ideal pastureland inhabited by nomads at least from the beginning of the Bronze Age. In the central part of the valley, not far from Atbashi river, there is Koshoi Korgon hillfort. |
