It elucidates to what extent the promises to Israel also characterise Christianity. At the same time, these promises are localised in a concrete space: The Roman Church of St. Croce in Gerusalemme is the station church on the 4th Sunday of Quadragesima due to the relic of the cross having been recovered there. In this way, the route travelled by the catechumens halfway through the Easter penitential period is ritually marked with destination images of faith. |
