This line has always remained unnoticed by scholars because it was not included in Geldner’s edition. However, this paper shows that it contains some interesting linguistic material deserving attention. In particular, some remarks on the newly established word Av. haēma- 'character, dispostion' are presented, discussing its etymology, its possible Middle Persian outcome, and its relation with the word commonly read as haēm in Vd. 13.44-48. Cet article traite d’un court fragment de texte avestique transmis à la dernière ligne de Ny. 1.7, dans la branche iranienne des manuscrits du Xorde Avesta. Cette ligne est toujours restée inaperçue des chercheurs car elle n’a pas été incluse dans l’édition de Geldner. Cependant, le présent article montre qu’elle contient des éléments linguistiques intéressants méritant l’attention. En particulier, quelques remarques sont présentées sur le mot nouvellement établi av. haēma- «caractère, disposition», avec une discussion sur son étymologie, son éventuel aboutissement en moyen-perse, et sa relation avec le mot couramment lu comme haēm dans Vd. 13.44-48. |
