Document Details : Title: The Neo-Babylonian Tablets of the Lawrence Henry Ott Collection in the Yale Babylonian Collection Author(s): BELTZ, Jon Journal: Orientalia Volume: 94 Issue: 1 Date: 2025 Pages: 139-162 DOI: 10.2143/ORI.94.1.3295538 Abstract : A large number of administrative texts from the temple archives of the Neo-Babylonian Empire have been published and are accessible to researchers. A smaller group of these texts which has slipped through the cracks can be found in the L.H. Ott Collection, currently a part of the Yale Babylonian Collection. Although these tablets were brought to the YBC in the mid-1970s and had been in the US long before that, they have never been published and made available to the scholarly community. This article provides editions and line drawings for nine out of the eleven Ott tablets from the Neo-Babylonian period and marshals evidence that they were part of the Eanna temple archive from Uruk. |
