During the summers of 1991-1994, the Arad Archaeology Center of the Israeli Antiquities Authority, Hamline University of St. Paul MN, and Educational Resources, Inc. of St. Paul MN, excavated the Byzantine Church at Tel Kerioth. It is located at the foot of Mt. Amassa, at the southern end of the Judean Hills, overlooking the Arad Basin. The article is a report of the excavation of this church. Attention is particularly paid to the mosaïcs discovered there, which form the starting point of a discussion on 8th century iconoclasm.
