Abstract :
The author pays attention to the substantial difference that exists between water tanks designed and constructed with the purpose of collecting and holding water, to be used when needed, and water tanks designed and constructed with the specific purpose of building up the hydraulic head necessary for an irrigation system to work at its best in the final and most critical section of the distribution network. The storing reservoir can be exploited with only the use of human or animal energy, necessary to haul the water out. The distribution tank or water accelerator works only by gravity.
