Document Details : Title: The Ordination of the High Priest and the Consecration Days in the Temple Scroll Author(s): BIRENBOIM, Hannan Journal: Revue de Qumran Volume: 29 Issue: 1 Date: numéro 109, 2017 Pages: 79-104 DOI: 10.2143/RQ.29.1.3217834 Abstract : In the Temple Scroll, adjacent to the commandment to observe the annual Consecration Days in the first month, there is a description of the high priest’s ritual, which includes sacrificial offerings. Many scholars have debated the nature of this ritual and the connection between it and the Consecration Days. In this article I will argue that, based on Eezek 45, the Scroll’s author establishes a Temple purification rite on the first of the first month, in which the altar of burnt offering is to be purified, whenever a new high priest is appointed. Dans le Rouleau du Temple, à la suite de l’injonction relative à l’observation annuelle des Jours de Consécration au cours du premier mois, se trouve une description du rituel effectué par le grand prêtre, lequel inclut plusieurs sacrifices. De nombreux spécialistes ont débattu au sujet de la nature de ce rituel et du lien l’unissant aux Jours de Consécration. Dans cet article, je soutiendrai la thèse selon laquelle l’auteur du rouleau, se basant sur Ezéchiel XLV, institue un rituel de purification du Temple au premier jour du premier mois, rituel au cours duquel l’autel de cuivre doit être purifié, chaque fois qu’un nouveau grand prêtre est nommé. |
