Abstract :
This article deals with the anonymous scholia of the catena commentary on 1 Corinthians that survives in Codex Pantokratoros 28. These texts without attribution are presented and examined here for the first time. The special focus of this examination is on the question of authorship of the anonymous scholia. The result of this investigation shows that there are two primary sources: Pseudo-Oecumenius’ Commentary on 1 Corinthians (CPG C165 [7475]) and John Chrysostom’s Homilies on 1 Corinthians (CPG 4428). The article concludes with some reflections on the value of the examined scholia for patristics, exegesis, and philology.
