Abstract :
This article studies the way Christian authors living under Muslim domination were challenged to reformulate the traditional presentation of key issues of Christian doctrine in so as to justify their faith and praxis. The work of Theodore Abu Qurrah on icon veneration is chosen as an illustration of such an attempt.
