Abstract :

In this article I aim to analyse the conceptual dissonance perceptible between the moral constructivism of Habermas and moral realism. Having shown that the point of intersection between constructivism and moral realism consists in the problematisation of moral relativism and the disqualification of the antirealist reduction of norms and of values to the subjective projection of our affects, of our preferences, and of our feelings, I explore the affirmation of the objectivity of moral properties as point of disjunction between moral realism and constructivism. In order to transcend this opposition that theoretically seems unfertile, I formulate the hypothesis that it is possible, if one lays down precisely the registers of pertinence and of intelligibility of each of these conceptual options, to reconcile moral constructivism and realism in order to densify further the explicative horizon of moral cognitivism.
