Document Details : Title: Vertebral artery stenting by using coronary intervention techniques and devices Author(s): H. Kilic , M. Balci , R. Akdemir Journal: Acta Cardiologica Volume: 64 Issue: 2 Date: 2009 Pages: 279-280 DOI: 10.2143/AC.64.2.2036152 Abstract : Atherosclerotic disease of the vertebro/basilar vessels is an important cause of posterior circulation infarction. Commonly, the primary atheroma forms at the origin of the vertebral arteries. Although initial treatment is medical, arch and four-vessel studies (CTA, MRA, or DSA) are warranted if symptoms continue. Endovascular management of vertebral artery stenosis might be highlighted as a good option in selected patients. This is a case of endoluminal stenting of vertebral artery with a durable result. |
