Grâce à un rapport consulaire austro-hongrois, nous possédons une copie du troisième numéro de ce périodique oublié, ainsi que quelques informations au sujet de son éditeur, Zekeria Sami efendi. Cette publication doit être analysée dans le contexte de la scène politique locale. Ainsi, l’opposition entre le CUP et le parti Hürriyet ve Itilâf, de même que les affaires albanaises semblent avoir eu une importance particulière. Dans ce lieu et à cette époque, employer les caractères latins représentait une arme politique contre le CUP. The short-lived Turkish newspaper Esas was published in Manast?r/Bitola, in late 1911, with two pages in Arabic script and two pages in the Latin alphabet. Thanks to an Austro-Hungarian consular report we have a copy of the third issue of this forgotten newspaper, as well as some information concerning its publisher, Zekeria Sami efendi. This publication has to be analyzed in the context of the local political scene. The opposition between the CUP and the Hürriyet ve Itilâf party, as well as the Albanian Affairs seem to be of particular importance in that respect. In this place and at that time, to use the Latin characters was a political weapon against the CUP. |
