Ce texte de construction était sans doute destiné à l’origine à une mosquée construite au temps du sultan OrÌan, monument dont il ne reste aucune trace. Malgré son déracinement, l’importance de ce texte est évidente?: il s’agit de l’une des deux plus anciennes inscriptions portant le nom d’un souverain ottoman. La lecture de cette inscription, publiée déjà à plusieurs reprises, varie d’un auteur à l’autre. On présente ici le bilan des déchiffrements précédents ainsi qu’une nouvelle proposition de lecture qui se voudrait plus sûre. The article examines the Bursa inscription in the name of Sultan OrÌan. This inscription appears, since the eighteen nineties, on the ?ehadet mosque where it was placed at the time of the rebuilding of this monument. This text of construction was undoubtedly intended for a mosque contemporary to sultan OrÌan, of which there does not remain any trace. In spite of its displacement, the importance of the text is obvious?: it is one of the two oldest inscriptions bearing the name of an Ottoman sovereign. The reading of this inscription, published already on several occasions, varies from one author to another. Here, we present the previous decipherings as well as a new proposal for a reading of this text, if possible a more reliable one. |
