Vooral het hogere, centrale gedeelte is een zeer bekend natuurgebied, de Hoge Veluwe, maar daar rond ligt een lager, uitgestrekt voornamelijk agrarisch gebied, met aan de rand enkele grote steden. How 'vaal' was the Veluwe? The name Veluwe is a toponymic of a rather large area in the Dutch province of Gelderland, which extends more or less between the edges of the former South Sea in the NW, the province of Overijssel in the N, the river IJssel in the E, the Rhine in the S, and the province of Utrecht in the SW and the W. The higher, central part is a very known natural reserve, the Hoge Veluwe, but around this central part is a lower, wide, and mostly agricultural area with some big cities at the outside borders. |
